Guest Host - Niecee Poo Made a Pop-up Card!

Brandy's Niecee Poo asked for a little help to make her friend (whose name is very similar to mine!) a unique birthday card.  Said friend likes giraffes.  Won't you totally agree that Niecee Poo did a fantastic job with this die cut heavy pop-up card.  Brandy helped with some of the die cutting, but the selection of which pieces to select and how the card was built was all Niecee Poo.  I'm thinking the artistic gene runs in the family, folks!

So bright and cheery, I'm certain the celebration was enjoyable.  Yay, Niecee Poo!  You can guest host anytime!

I'm entering this card into the SSS Wednesday challenge Simon Says Anything Goes.  Good luck to Niecee Poo.

More of the Baby Boy Scrapbook Layouts

I have been enjoying making a scrapbook for my nephew who is graduating from high school next year.  It's so fun to see these memories and such an honor to be asked to help.

As I mentioned in my previous post, some of the pages come from the scrapbook album/kit that my SIL picked out.  I've added embellishments and mating to many of the pages, so they are often altered from the premade pages provided in the kit.  I've also had to add papers from my stash to the album as we have many more pages than what came in the kit.

Of course, big sister features in this album as she was present for many of the milestones for nephew's first year.  How adorable is little Blue's Clues and the newly arrived Pooh Bear in these Halloween pictures?!?!

I am taking a short break to work on some card projects, but will be back with more pages.  I'm not quite halfway through the year's worth of pictures.

S is for..... So Sorry

Brandy and I both recently picked up Simon Says Stamp's Look for the Rainbows stamp set.  We were talking about one of the flower image and thought that it looked like a Black-eyed Susan rather than a wilting version of the other flowers featured in the stamp set.  Well, Brandy went home and created this watercolor card from that discussion as inspiration.  The sky background was painted with Sennelier watercolor, but the followers were colored with Paul Reuben's metallic watercolors.  It was tough to get a photo that shows the shiny in this card, but trust me when I say it is spectacular.

A Baby Boy Scrapbook Album

I had previously worked with my SIL on my niece's baby album.  She and I sat side by side and crafted the album.  I didn't share photos because we did it together and so the work wasn't wholely mine.  This year marks my nephew's graduation and it's time to get his baby book together.  My SIL asked if I'd be interested in making the pages without her.  Life moves on and a full time job, her house being a solid hour drive away, etc. makes the getting together for hours at a time tougher.  I, of course, felt honored and signed up immediately.  These are a few of the first pages I've put together.

I'm leaving the journaling for my SIL so the story told can be her's to tell.  Many of the pages come from the scrapbook album/kit that my SIL picked out, but I added a bunch of embellishments to the pages.  There's more to come.

Masculine Cards (with a side of the feminine) Inspired by Gina K.For the Boys Challenge

Brandy described this set of cards as an inspiration that came to her.  She was inspired to participate in the Gina K August 2019 Monthly Mix Challenge For the Boys.  The challenge was to create a masculine project with Gina K products.  Of course, she choose to use her Something Good stamp set, selecting the wood slab stamp.  She wanted to incorporate the deer die cut somehow and decided on a shaker card.  Each step in the design drove the next with the selection of the camouflage background stamp to create an interesting background and a tag sentiment to keep it simple (you know, masculine!).

Once that masculine inspired card was made, she was excited enough to make this butterfly focal point version.

Altogether great cards, but the inspiration didn't stop there.  Then she started to think feminine with a side of pink and these next two cards were created.  Beautiful, don't you think?

Here's a comparison of the different designs.  I prefer the deer on green because green is my favorite color and because the deer is rockin'.

From My Hands to Your Heart - More Altenew Starry Flowers

I had a few more of the Altenew Starry Flowers that I stamped using Brandy's stamp set.  In these cards, I decided to rotate them on the side and use a different sentiment for a slightly different look.

I'm surprised how much I like this last one, purple on kraft paper.  So much fun to create, so pretty to give out.

I'm entering this card into the SSS Monday Challenge S is For.... since S is for Starry Flowers.

Brandy's Simon Says Stamp Artist Trading Cards

Brandy and I decided to join Simon Says Stamp's Monday challenge Artist Trading Cards.  It was so much fun to join MayMay's ATC challenge in May that we thought we'd enjoy this challenge as well.  You can find the MayMay challenge Brandy's Arizona ATCsBrandy's Watercolor Poppies ATCAndie's Gorjuss Girls ATC, and Andie's Wild and Free ATCs.

Of course, Brandy has simply outdone the ATC format with her cards.  She ultimately ended up with this ink blended background as a three part panel that breaks into the individual ATCs which have been stamped with these silhouette stamps.  Choosing to have the image break across the individual cards is so stunningly brilliant.

Doesn't this just make you want to go see the live action Lion King movie?  It does to me and I have to make a slight bow in honor of Brandy's beautiful creations.

One last look and the link up.  Come join the ATC fun!
