Warm Winter Wishes

I had a few die cut patterned paper pieces from making these inlaid die cut Christmas tags.  I could have just placed them in the trash, but I decided to make a few notecards for the "winter" season.  We don't have snowmen in the Southern part of Arizona, but I just love the Avery Elle Be Jolly snowman and so I stamped some snowmen onto white cardstock with Fog colored ink , stamped the leftover die cut pieces and then fussy cut them out.  I paper pieced the snowmen together, coloring the nose with a marker and adding flocking to the hat bring and pom-pom.

The background was create using some Authentique patterned papers from the stash - quite old, but perfect coloring for these images.

I used a black marker to make the eyes, mouth and buttons stand out.  I also used Crystal Accents on the button to make them shiny.

It was a fun notecard set to put together and now I have a few extra cards for the stash.

Just Be Jolly - Holiday Tags Featuring Avery Elle

I had these patterned paper tags die cut in my stash and was wondering what to do with them.  They have been there for a couple of years as I die cut them for a project that either I didn't use and/or didn't use up.  It's been so long I've forgotten.  I've been on a kick to use up supplies so I came up with this cute idea - to stamp and color some snowmen using me Avery Elle Be Jolly stamp and die set.  A little Crystal Accents on the buttons brings them to life and some white flocking makes the fuzzy hat have texture.

I colored the images to match the papers, with intention to stand out and be cheery.  These are definitely cheery.

While the sentiment is lost on this last one, the snowman is delightful.  I'm pleased with how these turned out and excited to use them in the coming celebration.

I'm linking this up with the Stamptember Avery Elle linky party.  I am also going to link this up with Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday challenge Simon Says Anything Goes.  Come join the fun.

You're Cool Set of Cards

I had this great inspiration for a card and thought that I had the perfect die cut using my Cricut.  However, I could not find the Cricut cart that I was looking for (what happened?! the world may never know).  I had picked up Lawn Fawn's Snow Cool stamp set in a post holiday sale and so, I ended up purchasing Avery Elle's Be Jolly stamp set.  The snowman and sentiment were stamped using Memento London Fog ink. I colored the scarf, nose and arms with colored pencils to stay with the soft color scheme.  The snow is embossed in white and some snow glitter is on the hat.

I made a set of these cards for thankgiving and note cards for this season.  We don't really have snow in Arizona, but this makes me think I got a small taste (not really!).  Have a fantastic weekend with or without snow!
