Yippee!

Brandy did it, she did it!  Isn't this card ever so cheerful?  The images were stamped with Waffle Flower's Yippee stamp set.  These adorable little boys and girl are happily celebrating with the recipient - what a grand day it must've been?!!  Really, who could ask for a better card to celebrate their day?

A Happy Birthday Card for My Baby Girl!

Today marks 20 years since my last baby was born.  Katie was a hard won birth - 18 hours of back labor which ended in a Cesarean section delivery anyway.  I'd do it all again 500 more times as she is the best daughter a mom could ever have.

Katie's favorite color is pink and so I used my Polychromos pencils to color these flowers and strategically place the fussy cut image out onto a background stamped with black ink stripes.  A simple design, but very effective!

I so loved the card that I made a second card, coloring with three different colors this time.  I much prefer the pink, but these multi-colored flowers are just a pretty.  Since it is birthday season, both cards were put to good use.

Switching gears, I'll be sharing some of my Christmas cards in the days and weeks ahead.  Hope your crafty endeavors are well under way.

Some FlowerSoft Christmas Cards

Part of the FlowerSoft card toppers from Brandy's stash included these lovely street lanterns.  I filled in the FlowerSoft portions and they just screamed Christmas to me.  Scrapbook.com had this lovely plaid patterned paper from Ella and Viv.  They are sold out now, I'm sure because everyone else thought the paper perfect too.  The red and yellow compliment the image perfectly.  Additionally, I had some of these odd shaped envelopes - from my Grandma's stash which we've been going through since her passing.  All married together for a great set that is perfect for the holidays.

These will go into the stash to be used in my Christmas cards this year.  I'm ever so lucky to have a bestie like Brandy with a stash so large she'll gift me these wonderful supplies!

A Viking Pop Up Card

I am sharing this hearty, fierce pop-up card with you today.  Brandy made this card using her Pink and Main Norse Day stamp set.  She colored the images and then fussy cut them out, perching them on the pop-up card to great effect.  The top Viking is perched on the mast - as daring a Viking as may be.

The sentiment is just right, anchoring the card base and sending a wonderful thought for a birthday wish.  Join me in cheering Brandy on her card making skills.

FlowerSoft - In Purple!

Some more of the FlowerSoft card toppers.  This time I used some purple vellum to create a backdrop for the sentiment raised using foam sheets.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.  I'm feeling particularly grateful for all the many blessing which fill my life.  Hoping you are too.

More FlowerSoft Cards

Popping in today just before turkey day to share some more of the FlowerSoft cards that I made from Brandy's card toppers.  Same technique as before - using colored cardstock card bases and some foam sheets to pop the sentiment ovals up off the card.

The FlowerSoft technique followed the same method as this video.  This is an old technique, but the result is still quick stunning.

These cards will go together into the stash because they would make a great card set to give away. Green being my favorite color, I just love the result.

FlowerSoft Cards - Years Later

Brandy and I have been diligently digging through our stashes, weeding out supplies and giving them to good causes or offering them to each other.  I couldn't see giving a box of Flowersoft kits away without an attempt at using them.  I used this technique to make these cards from the card toppers that were included in the kit.

The sentiment oval was fussy cut and raised using foam sheets to create a unique shape.  The pink seam binding ribbon was also a part of the kit.

The card base is from a colored cardstock card base.

These cards were a snap to put together.  I intend to keep working with these supplies until I use the card toppers that were included.  That would give me quick a pile of cards, but mostly the satisfaction of using something so pretty from the stash - even if it is from Brandy's stash!

Sending Thanksgiving Wishes

As we enter the week where we celebrate Thanksgiving, I just had to share this card made by Brandy using her Art Impressions Grateful Hearts stamp set.  Stamped onto WPlus9 Oatmeal cardstock with a beige ink, Brandy colored the image with her Polychromos pencils using a no-line coloring technique.  The sentiment was also stamped in light ink and then colored over with a black pencil.  The result is even more spotlighted by the Distress ink blending around the image - making this charming hamster pilgrims the center of attention.

We're hoping your celebrations this week are joyful and filled with gratitude for our many blessings!

With Sympathy at the Loss of Your Beloved Pet

My daughter's sweetheart lost his dog and I just couldn't let it go without sending something to let him know we're heartbroken with him.  I did some simple stamping here to get the card in the mail quickly.  He's away at college and has to deal with this alone and separated from family and the remaining pets which might comfort him.

The stamp set is an Our Daily Bread Designs Paw Prints stamp set and which comes with the sentiments.  Easy to create this card with tenderness and care.

It's tough to lose a pet anytime, but especially away from home and family to comfort him.  Hopefully, this card brought a little support closer, if even for just a short time.

I'm linking this card up to the City Crafter Challenge Blog where they are challenging us to make a card about Friendship.  Head on over to take a look at the wonderful art.

A Mermaid Headband

I meant to share this closer to Halloween, but somehow lost track.  Brandy helped her niece out by handmaking this headband for her mermaid costume at Halloween.

Lots of glitter and shells were hot glued in place - perfect for this mermaid to gather lots of candy!  Even though it is late, it is a delightful project and I just had to include here.  Plus, it just cracks me up that that dude is our mannequin to show off this work of art!

New Baby Shower Card

My cousin is expecting a baby and I knew my grandfather would like to send a lovely card to her.  I whipped up this card as a quick card to send his love - personalized and caring.

The stamps are from my Lawn Fawn Hello Baby stamp set - one I've used repeatedly and it still doesn't get old.  A little ink blending in the middle helps to give the overall feel - soft and pink.  Perfect since the little one is expected to be a little girl.

A directed sentiment on the inside so that she knows he's thinking of her.

Balloons for Celebrating

Stopping by to share a set of cards that Brandy made.  She decidedly left off the sentiments so that she could personalize the card when she identified the use - whether Happy Birthday or simply celebrate or congrats...

The balloons are inked die cuts using Elizabeth Craft Designs Balloons dies and the banners also cut and inked using a set of Sizzix banner dies.  All ink is Distress ink.  All the bright colors perfectly match the colored twine holding those balloons down.

What a lovely set of cards, don't you think?  Bright and cheery, they will be great as one individual card or a set to give as a gift.  Yay!
