Happy 96th Birthday! A Milestone Birthday Card

Today is my grandfather's 96th birthday.  What a momentous occasion.  I made this card to put into the mail (trying to keep our distance with the quarantine) before we celebrate on another day.  Which means I will make another card for that day.  I just didn't want the *actual* day to go by without marking it.  Hopefully this fall inspired card will brighten the day until we can be in person.

Happy birthday, grandpa!

A Very Pink Happy 21st Birthday Card

This is Andie today to share a card made by Brandy.  I'm going to try not to be confusing!  My daughter, Katie, enjoyed a milestone birthday in November - she turned 21.  Brandy was scheduled to attend the party, but some weather (which is unusual for use here in Phoenix) caused havoc at her house and she ended up staying home to deal with those issues.  All is well, but it meant that we didn't get together with Katie until later in December for Brandy to give Katie this beautiful, special shaker card.  With my college student busy finishing up the semester and Christmas it took a little bit to get Katie to take a picture of the card.

Can you see the wonderful "2" and "1" die cuts?  I just think this is one of the most fantastic cards I've ever seen.  Katie was especially pleased since pink is her favorite color and this card is on display in her apartment.  I think Katie felt very special and I know I'm touched by her thoughtfulness as well.

A Delightful 60th Birthday Card - Milestone Birthdays Are the Best

Brandy broke out her Spellbinders May 2019 Large Die of the Month to make this wonderful milestone birthday card.  The die makes the card and in this case, what a delightfully beautiful celebration will this be.  A little sparkle cardstock and some pale flowers are such beautiful accents to the intricacy of the cake die cut.  So pretty!

Just Sitting Here Thinking About A 95th Milestone Birthday Card

My grandfather recently celebrated his 95th birthday.  I adore my grandfather and wanted to make a special card for his birthday since it is kinda a milestone.  I thought about making a card featuring "9" and "5", but I had previously done that for 90 and so I wanted something different.

I think this scene card created with MFT's Make Yourself At Home stamp set was a perfect solution.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut out all of the furniture and decorative pieces.  Trying for a homey, but masculine feel, I decided to add the more neutral colored lamp and vase.  I think it worked!  The card base and the floor are stamped using my Concord and 9th Barnwood background stamp.

On the inside, a sentiment stamped with my Concord and 9th Happy Day stamp set.  The "H" in my Happy stamp has lost a serif, but I couldn't resist getting the "9" and "5" on here somewhere!

Since I had the pieces on the table, I decided for a much more feminine look on this second card.  I like them both, but think the one for my grandfather is more fitting.  I forgot how fun making a scene can be...

I'm entering the second card in Simon Says Stamp's Monday challenge All Things Pink since it is pink inspired.

A Milestone Birthday To Join the Shaker Challenge

My father celebrated his milestone birthday - 70 years - last week.  I put together this shaker card using my Cricut and a Papertrey Ink balloon die.  I ink blended four card fronts using my Peacock Feathers and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink.  I used some Perfect Pearls to splatter on the card fronts so there is a subtle sparkle, but not too much since this is a masculine card.  I left the die cut  opening as a single, square opening for the sequins and seed beads because I knew I could just add quite a bit of sparkle inside. I think it works well here.

On the inside, I used an oops from the die cutting process.  I attempted to cut the "70" out and didn't have the settings on the blade deep enough (pressure setting) which resulted in a cut that didn't go all the way through the paper.  I decided to repurpose that boo-boo by silver heat embossing the inside sentiment and using it to be the inside.   A black pen was more than enough to add my own personal sentiment underneath.  I'm pleased with how the card turned out - he was too as he made a point to show my mom when I gave it to him.  He's an understated man, so that was an indication how much he thought.

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

City Crafter Challenge Blog - Week 430 - Birthday Shaker as my card is definitely both!

Come join the fun.

Celebrating 50 Years!

I'm terribly late in posting this card made for my hubby, Dan, who turned 50 years old this year.  I decided on a very formal, masculine shaker card highlighting silver, gold and black.  The sentiment is from a set of foam mounted black, glitter stickers.  Simple, elegant and enough to let the man know I care about him on his 1/2 century mark.

What milestones have you celebrated recently?

Celebrating 90 Years - A Milestone Birthday Card

I've been traveling for work... long story.  Anyway, I wanted to get this card posted so I am popping in today sharing the birthday card I gave my Grandma on her 90th birthday.  You might remember these invitations to her birthday party that I made to send out.  I thought I needed to go in a different creative direction just to make her feel good.

I used my Concord and 9th Happy Day stamp set to make this card.  The cake stamp was inked using brown ink on Bristol paper.  This was so I could color the image with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a waterpen.  I finished the image with a little glitter pen to make some shine - you can almost see the glitter on the flowers.

I fussy cut the image out - getting much closer to the edge than the matching dies would do.  I used some fun foam to back the image so that the image would be evenly raised.  The banner is raised using two toothpicks I had on hand.  .  Both the banner and the sentiment are from the Concord and 9th stamp set.  They make milestone birthdays easy to celebrate!

On the inside - a simple added wish with a sparkle heart.  We had a fantastic time at the party and the follow-up dinner on her actual birthday.  I am so very blessed to have both my material grandparents with me to celebrate on such an occasion.  I ended up making her a set of Thank You cards for her actual gift.  I'll try to get those photos edited and posted soon.

Celebrating 90 Wonderful Years

My grandmother is turning 90 years old later this month.  What a wonderful time to have a celebration!.  I stamped these lovely cards following the general layout of these cards I created last year using my Altenew Vintage Flowers stamp set.  The inks are all Simon Says Stamp (Soft NavySurf Blue and Willow).  I printed the sentiment out at Fed Ex where their matte finish white cardstock is perfect for stamping.  I simply layout the sentiment with a mock rectangle for aligning the die when cutting using Word.  The printer at Fed Ex is always a solid print and resistant to smudging during die cutting and stamping.  The inside of the card was created the same way, just using different stamps.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday challenge: Simon Says For a Special Lady
Word Art Wednesday's challenge: Week 272/273 Anything Goes

We can't wait for the celebration which will be in a few short weeks.  I am so very blessed to be able to enjoy this celebration and looking forward to the time with family focused on such a dear, lovely grandma.  I'm off to get some more crafting done as making these consumed a large amount of time.  Hope your weekend is filled with crafting fun!
