Notecards Featuring Taylored Expressions Field Notes Kit Stamps - Both 1 and 2

A couple of notecards that I used my Mission Gold watercolors to color and then make simple notecards from the finished panels.  I'm pleased with both of these cards.

Notecards featuring Taylored Expressions Field Notes

Today I'm sharing one of the neatest card sets yet, using the Taylored Expressions Field Notes Kit.  These cards were created by Brandy using some neon watercolor paints and holographic cardstock in the background.  Excuse the photos - it is difficult to get good photos that show off the holographic cardstock and the neon watercolors, but I think these give you the idea.  Trust me, these cards are more stunning in person than the photos present.

So vibrant and colorful - they are a great example with this card set and once again demonstrate how fun this kit was to work with.

Another Field Notes Card Set

I stuck with the soft colors in this card set I made using Taylored Expressions Field Notes Kit.  I used the stamp and die set to create the floral focal points on Bristol cardstock and colored with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.  The backgrounds are ink blended with Distress Oxides using the deckle edges masking stencil from the kit.  I then stamped in the same Distress Oxide ink using the calendar stamp from the kit.  A die cut tag using the die from the kit and sentiment from the stamp set creates just the right "note".

What you can't see in most of these pictures is that I did white heat emboss a short quote from Emerson on the card set.  It is difficult to see in the photos but very monochromatic in the card set in person.

Field Notes Card Set - Using Taylored Expressions Field Notes Kit

Field Notes.... a kit that Brandy and I resisted purchasing.  We told ourselves lots of reasons to justify the distinct strategy to not purchase.  They included the misguided notions like "we don't need the non-floral stamps" and "I can't see using the other tools in the kit".  Sigh - we were WRONG!  When Tayolored Expressions re-released the Field Notes Kit all pretense at resistance was lost and we quickly placed a combined order.  This card set is my first attempt at using the stamps and dies in the kit.

I stamped the images on kraft cardstock for the background and colored with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.  I tried a very loose look - challenging for me.  I'm so pleased as they are very close to my vision.

For the sentiment, I white heat embossed onto vellum and then adhered to the page through some hand stitching using white thread - a thin crochet thread.  I wondered whether I would want to stitch all of them and it was tedious, but I persevered.

Each of the floral elements were stamped onto Bristol cardstock, colored with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and die cut.  I'm very pleased at the soft look that I was able to create with most cards.  Some of the photos don't accurately capture the images, but most are exactly how I envisioned the result.

Well worth the wait and I am definitely making more cards with this kit!
