Finishing a Set - Notecards from the Stash

I'm stopping in to share my hard work from this weekend.  I decided to finish up the assembly line for the cards that I mentioned earlier in the week.  Here's the line up in a variety of colors.

Some of the images are better colored than others, but I think all the cards turned out lovely.  So much fun and useful too.  These will go in the stash to be a gift or something similar.

Hello and Thinking of You - More Notecards from the Stash

I had previously white heat embossed using my Simon Says Stamp Floral Bliss stamp set onto watercolor paper.  Using my Mission Gold watercolors, I colored in the flowers and fussy cut the image out.  These colored images were left in the stash for quite some time - I didn't exactly know what to do with them.  When going through the stash recently, I pulled them out to see what I could make with them.  This card is the example.  I used a stencil and Distress Oxide inks in Spiced Marmalade and Worn Lipstick to create the background.  Then, I created my own coordinating cardstock with the same inks, ultimately white heat embossing the sentiment to keep with the theme.

The image is too wide for a standard A2 sized card so I trimmed the leaves on the edges and tucked them behind the image.  It worked well and I really like the card design.  I've set up an assembly line and will spend a couple of nights making coordinating elements for other versions of this same card as I have quite a few of these in the stash.  Fun and I get something used in the stash.  Win, Win!

A Sympathy Card

At this time of the year it is a tough thing to face the loss of a loved one.  Unfortunately, one of my staff at work lost not only one, but two of her brothers last month.  Tragic anytime, but definitely overwhelming during what is supposed to be a "happy" time of the year.  I wanted to send my condolences with something a bit bright, if understated.  This Kraft, one layer card fit my expectation.

I used my Simon Says Stamp Floral Bliss stamp and my Simon Says Stamp Friendship Messages for sentiment on the outside of the card, coloring the image with colored pencils.

On the inside, a simple sentiment with plenty of room for a handwritten note.  Since I was worried about getting something wrong in the coloring and I had the stamp in the MISTI, I stamped a few of these to color and add to the stash.  Without the sentiment inside, these cards can be used for many different occasions.
