All Those Gorjuss Girls

I'm well on my way in creating some Christmas cards, even a little behind at this point to tell the truth.  I'll bring posts of those creations soon.  For now, I'm sharing a few cards that I made for the stash - great gifts for the season to come. 

I had colored these Gorjuss girls some time ago and they sat in the pile until inspiration (and looking forward to the gift giving season) hit.  I used various paper pads of coordinating papers to create the backgrounds.  Most of the sentiments are from the paper pads as well. 

I think this girl is my favorite.  The shading worked the best and I didn't get a good photo of her hair, but there is definition there.  The frame and the glitter lace behind her work well and so I am really pleased how this turned out.

'Course I'm pleased with all the girls - they turned out great.  Hope all your gift crafting is coming along nicely.  Happy fall!

Some More Coloring - This Time Copics

Brandy and here coloring here- this time utilizing her Gorjuss Getaway stamp.  Although the coloring is incomplete on this project, the work is so stunning I just had to share with you.  I am mesmerized by the horse's mane and the details of markings on his rump.  They both are very realistic to me.  As such, I couldn't help myself and shared this even though it's not quite done.

I hope this inspires you to give some of your coloring projects a try and share with us in blogland.  Even this partially completed projects is inspiring to me.

Wanna Getaway?

Throughout the fall and winter I had a couple of opportunities to travel for work.  What is a crafty girl to do?  I simply packed my 12 pc. Intense pencils, a watercolor brush and some pre-stamped images and had a crafty time in the hotel room after work was done.  I'm finally getting around to making cards from these image.  This card is the first.

This image was stamped in Archival black ink onto watercolor paper using my Gorjuss Getaway stamp set.  I will say that some of the coloring imperfections are a result of the poor lighting in most hotel rooms.  Still, pairing this image with some Making Memories (old!) paper flowers with pearl centers and patterned paper from the stash really works to let our 'lil Miss take center stage of this card.  There are improvements I'd make looking back, but she's wonderful just as she is too.
