I had mentioned that I would be back with more cards made using blooms created with my Altenew Painted Flowers stamps and dies.  Today I'm combining the blooms with dies cuts made using The Greetery Brick Layer die.  Another simple, but effective result.  I'm pleased with how these turned out.

I've started generating Mother's Day cards and so I am sharing a few notecards made using Altenew Painted Flowers stamps and dies and then sentiments from Lawn Fawn Dandy Day stamps.  A bit of a different design for me, but I really like how these turned out!

I have a few more ideas and a few more of these blooms and so I'll be back with some other cards soon.

Notecards Featuring Altenew's Painted Flowers Stamps and Dies

I'm sharing a set of cards made with blooms made using my Altenew Painted Flowers stamps and dies.  I paired the soft pastel blooms with some black and white text patterned paper.  So striking and satisfying.  I am pleased with how these turned out.

 

Ever Start a Project and Loose Interest?

Brandy and I have both taken on fairly large projects during the quarantine and find that our interest in these large projects wains.  Today I'm sharing some cards made following the pattern when I made this birthday card for my bestie.  I had previously mentioned in this post that I used some samples I discarded when making the original card to do some multiple sets of card fronts with different color schemes.  My original thought was that during the quarantine I'd have plenty of time to make these into cards.  The problem, once I stamped the card fronts my mojo with finishing them just ran right out of me.  So they sat for a bit.  I made the Mother's Day cards and then they sat a bit more as I found other, more interesting projects to work on.  I finally decided to finish these off as a card set.  Nothing spectacular, I reverted to a very similar design to the original birthday card and called them done.  I suppose I can give them away as they are pretty, but I definitely have lost interest.

More Painted Flowers Experiments

I previously mentioned that I had made this card for my bestie's birthday and because I loved it so much, I took one of the fails from that card making adventure and used it as a template for mass producing card fronts.  I used my Altenew Painted Flowers stamp set and soft colored Distress Ink colors.  I am back today to share cards made with that stamping session, but in a slightly different design to show off the stamping.  These are A7 sized cards - a nice departure as I usually create A2 sized cards.

I think these turned out delightful, if slightly less delightful than the card I made for Brandy.  Guess sometimes your first try is the best...

A Mother's Day Set of Cards - Same Layout Two Different Ways

I had made this card for my bestie's birthday.  I just love the card, the colors the layout, the look of the Altenew Painted Flowers stamped with soft Distress Ink colors.  I loved it so much that I took one of the fails from that card making adventure and used it as a template for mass producing card fronts.  I guess all the tumult in the world has caused me to have extended stamping sessions and so multiple seem very easy.  These first few cards are my attempt to turn that stamping session into cards.

You'll notice the cluster of flowers is exactly the same - I used my MISTI to replicate Brandy's card.  However, when I put the cards together I challenged myself to frame and/or layout the cards in a slightly different manner.  The first card is A2 and the second is an A7 like Brandy's card.  Each have their own and different look.  These will go in the stash.  I don't know whether things will be different in the flower shop where my cards usually are.  Mother's Day was a big event there last year.  I'm wondering how everything will be different this year.  I'm going to save these for the shop either way.

Happy Birthday to the Best Bestie A Girl Can Have!

Today is the birthday of my best friend, blog sharer and frequent crafty companion Brandy.  Crafting brought us together (see this story which is where this crafty journey started).  I couldn't be more thrilled that all these years later (it's been two decades!) we still have a strong friendship, with a healthy dose of craftiness on the side. 

I made this card to celebrate my friend.  She does more than she should for others, constantly giving of herself.  She is gracious and thankful when you do something kind for her.  She is hardworking and smart - one of the most clever individuals I have had the pleasure to know. 

Most of all, she's my best friend, supporter, confidant and partner in crafty endeavors.  I already gave her this card and her present is a present to me too - we're attending the Embellish It! Play All Day in June 2020, which is a full weekend of craft time.  I can't wait, but know that it will be some of the most special times for the two of us.

Happy Birthday, Brandy.  Sending my love again.

Just Because - Altenew Painted Flowers for a Card Swap

I shared Brandy's card for the Scrapbook Expo card swap yesterday.  Her Christmas themed card was die-cut-centric and so sweet, I'm sure it blessed everyone at the swap.  I decided to head in a different direction - using my Altenew Painted Flowers layering stamp set.

I used the MISTI to make the multiple copies quickly and easily.  I also used the Michaels 110lb colored cardstock as my card base.  It's not quite a Neenah Solar White 110lb weight, but it is real close - close enough to be a great basis for a colored card.

This is only a portion of the pile needed for the swap.  We both are glad to be able to spend the weekend together and more than a little pleased with our cards for the swap.  I'll be back once I've recovered from my weekend to declare the results of the swap and our weekend of crafting.
