Taking Baby Steps for a Mini-Album

A coworker recently celebrated the birth of her baby daughter.  I made this mini-album using a Simple Stories Baby Steps patterned paper collection.  Nothing too challenging and I let the collection drive the design of the mini-album.

Thank you for staying with me until the end of this picture-full post.  I really like how the mini-book turned out.

Bohemian Birthday

Brandy made this lovely easel card and I just had to share it with you.  The flowers are die cut using the Funky Florals 2 die set and the background is the Simon Says Stamps Bohemian background stamp embossed in gold on the blue paper.  A smattering of butterflies makes this look realistic.  Ever so delicate.

On the inside, more flowers and a gold embossed MFT sentiment.  So pretty, I'm sure the recipient felt real special.

Roaring in for a Second Birthday

I found myself with short time to create a birthday card for a handsome young man who was turning 2.  I pulled out my Studio Katia Birthday Lions stamp set and whipped this card up in no time.  A couple of things I'd have done differently:
  • I added the hat as a second thought.  It would have been better to stamp and mask rather than placing it precariously on his head.
  • I used Distress Oxide ink for the blue background and Polychromos for the coloring. As such, my hat color turned to a green when mixed with that blue.  Green and Red striped hat... too Christmas for a lion birthday card.
  • I purposely added the balloon string to the side because that would be more realistic (because the string would have been officially tied there).  However, I think it makes more sense on the card to come out of the bottom of the balloon.

Still, I really like the card as finished so I'm sure to make another one sometime.  Have a roaring good day.

Sweet 16 Pop-up Card

I'm popping in to share this milestone birthday card created by Brandy.  So festive with those primary colors and so special to mark this very special milestone birthday.

A Simple Father's Day Card

I am continuing to edit photos of cards made during my hectic June where I didn't get a chance to post.  This one somehow slipped through the cracks, but I liked it enough to want to post even though it is late.

I used my Concord & 9th Sketched Stripes background stamp to make the patterned paper.  Since this was a dude card, I kept the rest coordinated and simple.  This turnabout stamp created a lovely look that allowed me to whip up this card quickly.

On the inside, a simple sentiment so my grandpa knew how much I love him.

I'm linking this card up to the Simon Says Stamp's challenge Simon Says Make Your Own Background
